It accepts a request with a URL to firmware update information. If the version field contains ..\ character sequences, the destination file path to save the firmware can be manipulated to be outside the intended destination directory tree.

Low privileged UniFi Video users can abuse the Configuration Restore functionality to modify any application configuration setting, including creating new administrative users.

Details:

The UniFi Video Server (Windows) web interface configuration restore functionality at the “backup” and “wizard” endpoints does not implement sufficient privilege checks. Low privileged users, belonging to the PUBLIC_GROUP or CUSTOM_GROUP groups, can access these endpoints and overwrite the current application configuration. This can be abused for various purposes, including adding new administrative users.

• The old method was to use /tmp (which is typically a RAMDisk on most Linux systems). If the export selection wouldn't fit, a generic error would come up

2. If the export exceeds 4GB, provide a useful error in the web UI
3. If the export will fit in /tmp, zipping is done in /tmp. /tmp is created by the OS and is typically RAMDisk, thus, it's pretty quick to obtain your export through this method
4. If the export will not fit in /tmp, zipping is done in the UniFi Video base directory (i.e. /usr/lib/unifi-video by default). The performance will decrease compared to /tmp because its IO is done on an HDD/SSD (server hardware dependent) compared to RAMDisk
5. If the export will not fit in the UniFi Video base directory, zipping is done at the specific Recording Directory. This should ensure adequate space for almost any export. The speed can be even further decreased in this case as there may need to be some purging operations in order to make room for the export
6. If none of the above conditions are met, a useful error will be provided in the UI

• Concatenation of video files is always performed in the cache for UniFi Video
• For now, the maximum export is 4GB in size whereas previously you were limited to 50 recordings as selected in the UI, regardless of their cumulative size. We are looking at ways to further increase this cap in a reliable and stable way in a future release

Known issues

• There is an issue with the Windows upgrade method from within the Web UI. Affected versions include 3.10.8 and 3.10.9. We will have a 3.10.10 released very soon with the fix. For now, the Windows version of this release has been pulled from the CDN so anyone who is pre-3.10.8 should be able to upgrade without issue
• We do not recommend users with G3-Micros install 4.14.14 firmware if used in tandem with UniFi Networks when the G3-Micro is in standalone mode. There is a known issue with 4.14.14 firmware which produces a red herring Rogue AP alert for the camera. This will be fixed in the next firmware release
• iPhone 8/X and beyond users will continue to experience audio issues for the time being

4. Upgrade MongoDB to 4.0.x
5. Set UniFi-Video to default (is_default=true in system properties)
6. Restart unifi-video service (this will create a new database in wiredtiger format)
7. Restore the configuration downloaded in step 2
8. Remanage all cameras you previously unmanaged

• For controller restart feature to work with Windows the following additional configuration is needed:

1. Open the Windows Services list and go to the Ubiquiti UniFi Video service

• A UniFi Protect promotional clip has been added to the web UI in 3.10.7. • To ensure a smooth upgrade path, NVR appliances must upgrade to 3.9.12 before upgrading to 3.10.0+. Then, upgrading an NVR from 3.9.12 to 3.10.0+ must be done via the web UI update. Subsequent updates can then be performed via apt, manual, etc. unless otherwise noted in the release notes. Since the soft release requires a manual install, here is the safe way to download and install it (this also works if you already attempted an install via dpkg, you're basically just reinstalling with the proper JRE):
